It was then that I learned how to easily split cake layers. If you're splitting an 8-inch cake, you need at least a 10-inch serrated bread knife. And you mark the cutting line by inserting toothpicks just above or below the halfway point all around the cake. Hope that helps. I'm sooooo over making such fancy cakes. I like to keep "the faff factor" down as much as possible these days! 😁Jean | DelightfulRepast.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02038772991628796917noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3896642794207631523.post-35466655602153218482022-08-18T22:25:44.575+01:002022-08-18T22:25:44.575+01:00I love the thought of you smuggling jars of Bon Ma...I love the thought of you smuggling jars of Bon Maman into France. It could spark an international incident. This is one of those cakes that I know so well from pictures but I've never made (even in my more indulgent, lemon-curd-guzzling days). It does look SO impressive and I'm sure that it tastes just as good as it looks.Phil in the Kitchenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15904292856978631382noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3896642794207631523.post-51355499457688722602022-08-18T14:32:54.508+01:002022-08-18T14:32:54.508+01:00Looks delicious!!Looks delicious!!Chelesterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03698533883784173649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3896642794207631523.post-89902534014618937872022-08-12T10:47:26.009+01:002022-08-12T10:47:26.009+01:00Oh, my! I sometimes see it in supermarkets here, but not often (but then I don't really look for it, as Mr FD isn't that fussed and he's the main jam/spread eater in our household.)Fat Dormousehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03840571411333027928noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3896642794207631523.post-27954583223429510912022-08-12T10:07:44.555+01:002022-08-12T10:07:44.555+01:00Sounds yummy.....
