I could be persuaded to try the marzipan trick but I think I was really put off marzipan by some terrible cakes I've had in the past. I remember Two Way Family Favourites and Sunday lunch but my mother rarely had time to make desserts and so I was in charge of making (alcohol free) trifle from a very young age. Looking back I think they were barely edible.Phil in the Kitchenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15904292856978631382noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3896642794207631523.post-50053601374481324242017-01-11T08:32:40.935+00:002017-01-11T08:32:40.935+00:00I made a crumble with apple and a couple of spoonf...I made a crumble with apple and a couple of spoonfuls of leftover mincemeat after Christmas. It was good. Like you I often have a batch of prepared crumble mix in the fridge (especially while I'm trying to use up my apple crop).

A good tip that we always follow when buying a new camera is - don't by a new camera, buy a refurbished one from the manufacturer. This will get you a brand new camera that has had a fault and been repaired. That way you can buy something you couldn't otherwise afford, at a bargain price, and it's been checked over and certified as in full working order.Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06472449597146519943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3896642794207631523.post-16117986520389997692017-01-11T08:30:15.960+00:002017-01-11T08:30:15.960+00:00I forgot to add, marzipan in banana cake sounds wo...I forgot to add, marzipan in banana cake sounds wonderful, 'll try that.Jeanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09726164724131916224noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3896642794207631523.post-79600447985223260202017-01-11T08:28:32.988+00:002017-01-11T08:28:32.988+00:00Jo, my mum didn't own a chopping board until t...Jo, my mum didn't own a chopping board until the 80's when I gave her one for Christmas. Chopping was done in the hand or on a plate, occasionally on the worktop.
Those old formica worktops could withstand anything, the sharpest knives and pots straight out of the oven..Jeanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09726164724131916224noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3896642794207631523.post-76603682430932445772017-01-10T14:44:03.983+00:002017-01-10T14:44:03.983+00:00This sounds delicious - a great way to use up fest...This sounds delicious - a great way to use up festive left overs. I've grated left over marzipan into a banana bread before and that was really tasty.

Also, my mum chops apples (and most vegetables) in her hand too. She thinks a chopping board is just another unnecessary thing to wash, hehe.Johttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07922950133889230965noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3896642794207631523.post-88553305626951282912017-01-10T13:56:39.788+00:002017-01-10T13:56:39.788+00:00I'm a big crumble fan too.
