An 8" (20cm round) tin works well for the 2lb (900g) loaf tin recipes. Mind you, we have made many round loaves in the past so yes it could still be considered a loaf!
Thanks for reminding me about butterfly cakes....haven't made any of those in ages!
(I think your comment was destined for the next post, BTW.)Jeanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09726164724131916224noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3896642794207631523.post-38181400201530260142021-11-15T16:32:23.643+00:002021-11-15T16:32:23.643+00:00If the ingredients of a banana loaf were baked in ...If the ingredients of a banana loaf were baked in a circular tin, would the result still be a loaf? On the same theme if the crowning slices that project from the top of a butterfly bun were squared off rather than semi-circular would it be necessary to re-christen the bun as something aeronautical?Roderick Robinsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16828395545197001637noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3896642794207631523.post-19580908204037888662021-11-02T07:52:09.752+00:002021-11-02T07:52:09.752+00:00Well, you never know, it might work! But it probably won't!
I've reached the conclusion that if it doesn't sound like Mary Berry made it, give it a miss!Jeanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09726164724131916224noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3896642794207631523.post-17532591619109430242021-11-01T23:46:32.328+00:002021-11-01T23:46:32.328+00:00I must admit that I have a certain fascination wit...I must admit that I have a certain fascination with 2 or 3 ingredient baking. I've tried a few with interesting and questionable results in the past but this is a new combination to me. I'm not sure.... My wife is trying to persuade me that we should try the ice cream and self-raising flour combo, but I'm not too sure about that either.
